Following the instructions provided in the axle removal and install guide, remove the hub endcaps and axle

Carefully clean the freehub body, pawls , springs and rubber freehub seal with a clean rag

Clean the ratchet ring located inside the hub body

Don't forget to remove the pawls and clean the pockets they sit in

Now that we are done cleaning, lets get some fresh lube in there

Remove the pawls and put a small amount of e*thriteen freehub grease in each pawl pocket (our grease is Mobil XHP-222)

Use only a small amount of grease and clean up any grease that escapes once the pawls are reinstalled

Reinstall the pawls

Lightly grease the pawl faces with e*thirteen freehub grease

Clean the freehub lockring if your hub uses one

2016+ hubs and freehubs use a one piece seal and no lockring, so skip this step if you don't see the lockring

lightly grease the hub seal and lockring (if used)

Lightly grease the hub's ratchet ring and seal face using Mobil XHP-222 grease

If you don't have Mobil XHP-222 grease, do not substitute any other grease. Suitable substitutes are Dumond Tech Freehub Oil, Phil Wood Tenacious Oil, 80W gear oil or 30W motor oil.

Re-install the freehub body following the axle removal and install instructions
