Tools: Any brand bearing press will work as long as the correct size bearing drifts are used.
-
First start by removing the hub end caps. Pull firmly to remove.

For older carbon-tube hubs, bearings must be pressed out; for newer all-aluminum hubs, you can carefully drive bearings out using a hammer and punch against the axle reducer, while taking care to avoid damaging to the lip of the reducer.
-
Using your bearing press, place the axle press tool on the disc side axle sleeve, this will press the axle through the hub
-
Place the bearing removal cup on the non-disc side, this cup should be larger in diameter than the bearing. Slide the threaded rod through the hub, install the handles. Make sure the axle press tool and bearing removal cup are centered
-
Tighten the tool handles to press the axle and the non-disc side bearing out of the hub shell
-
-
-
Remove bearing you just pressed/knocked out from the axle sleeve which came out with the bearing.
-
Insert the axle sleeve back into the hub to press out bearing on disc side. Insert threaded rod through bearing press and axle sleeve.
-
Place the bearing removal cup on the disc side (this cup should be larger in diameter than the bearing). Tighten the tool handles to press the axle and the disc side bearing out of the hub shell.

-
While not required, using sleeve retainer such as Loctite 638 in the bearing bore is never a bad idea.
-
Using the bearing cup and bearing drift, start by pressing one of the bearings into the hub shell. Disc or drive side does not matter.
-
Insert the axle sleeve into the hub shell and fully seat it against the bearing you just installed.
-
Slide on the second bearing so that it is sitting above the bore, install the bearing press and if required, ensure that you are using either an over axle drift on both sides or the bearing cup on the side that was already installed and the drift on the side you are about to install.
-
Turn the press handles and fully seat the second bearing.
-
Re-install axle end caps
